Vacation!!

I guess I should say "Staycation". We weren't able to go on a real vacation this year since Lenny is a bit young to travel. Instead, we took a week off and stayed home to just relax and enjoy what is left of summer.

We didn't just hang out at the house the whole time though. First we visited my dad's cabin on Lake Wixom for a couple of days. I went water skiing for the first time in nearly a decade and Lincoln tried tubing for the very first time...and hated it.

Gena also went tubing for the first time ever and ended up drinking half the lake from all the wipeouts. She attempted to get up on skis but had no success this time. We will get her up for sure next summer when we have more time up there.

The rest of the week we just kind of laid back at home. I went swimming with Link and we rode the bicycle a few times. Saturday I got to feel like a kid in a candy store on my first visit to Eastern Market. For those who are not familiar with this market, it is the largest farmer's market in the Detroit area. There are 3 large indoor pavilions set up where local and non-local farmers sell tons and tons of veggies every Saturday. There are also food vendors selling soups, breads, sandwiches, pies, home-baked goods and other things. Needless to say, I'm in love with this place.

We picked up some burritos from our favorite mexican food truck while there as well as some yummy gazpacho soup and came home for lunch. After we ate, the whole family took a nap and then Lincoln and I went for a bike ride. All in all, a pretty awesome end to my vacation.
